Ultra Small Residual Gas Analyzer specifically designed for High Pressure operation

The AX-80 Residual Gas Analyzer is fitted with a very small mass filter and has half the ion path length of other Residual Gas Analyzers designed for High Pressure operating. With a mass ranges of 80amu, the AX80 will operate up to 10-2mBar pressure.

The AX-80 Residual Gas Analyzer uses a PC Computer as its system controller and its operating software is written in a high level language. This simplifies updating, and allows easy customizing to meet specific process requirements. The user-friendly software operating under 'Windows' make the AX-80 easy to use in all RGA and gas analysis applications.

< The Analyzer.

The quadrupole analyzer is fitted with a low profile ion source of a radially symmetrical design fitted with twin filaments. The standard filaments are thoria coated iridium but tungsten are available if required. The high precision mass filter is only 12mm long with a pole radius  equivalent to 1 mm.

 

 

 

 

 ^ Electronic Control Unit

This compact unit contains the complete quadrupole electronics and plugs directly onto the analyzer. Communication with the PC Computer is via the RS232.

The unit has a performance and features only found on more expensive Residual Gas Analyzers, and yet its small size and low cost is achieved by the use of the very latest electronic techniques.

 

<Micro Mass Filter

 The specially shaped electrodes are equivalent to a circular rod of 1 mm radius, and are 12mm long. The 4 electrodes are supported by a precision machined ceramic collar.

 

 

Complete Analyser>

The complete analyser head shown opposite is available with a choice of mounting flange. KF 40 is normally supplied as standard.
The thoria coated iridium filaments are individually replaceable. The analyser can be dis-assembled by the user for cleaning purposes should cleaning be required.

 

 

Performance

The Analogue Spectra below, show the performance of the AX80 Residual Gas Analyzer. Despite the small size of the micro mass filter, 10% valley resolution is readily achieved between adjacent mass peaks. An air leak was introduced to raise the pressure for illustration purposes.

Software features

The new 'Windows' RGA software for the AX-80 Residual Gas Analyzer mass spectrometer has been designed to be 'user friendly' and very simple to learn and use. For detailed information refer to the separate software leaflet.
